This is something I just don't understand this. Pamela Anderson shows absolutely no respect for herself or for marriage. She is in her third marriage for the last 2 months, and now she is already thinking of ending it. Yesterday she filed for divorce, and now she says she is working it out. Marriage is not temporary. You need to think before entering a committment as this. Before being married to her current husband, Rick Salomon, she was married to Kid Rock, but that only lasted 3 months. She was married to her first husband, Tommy Lee, for 3 years, during wich they had 2 children. What a shining example she is for her children.

Idiot of the Day: Man Beat Boy For Putting Pink Fingernail Polish On Nails
C'mon now. This is not the stone age. It is not a crime, nor is it unhealthy for a 7 year old boy to put on pink nail polish. I cannot imagine how a father can beat his child, with a belt and leave bruises all over his body just for putting on pink nail polish. Aundre Jermaine Hill of Orange County, Florida has been arrested on child abuse charges. I am interested to see what his defense could possibly be. And how can he look his child in the eye again.

My Top Vocalists in Rock and Roll
OK, remember, this is MY list and MY opinions. And I could not limit it to 10.
1. Robert Plant - Lead singer of the greatest band ever. 'Nuff said.
Favorite Song: Kashmir
2. Geoff Tate - Lead singer for the band of Queensryche. WOW! What a voice. Powerful, emotive, intelligent. He is part of the reason that Operation: Mindcrime is one of my top all-time albums. He is as good today (if not better) as when Operation: Mindcrime was originally recorded.
Favorite Song: ALL of Operation: Mindcrime, especially Suite Sister Mary
3. Layne Staley - Passionate is a good word to describe the late Layne Staley. He put so much emotion in his vocals. We lost a great talent so early in his life. To really hear him, listen to Alice in Blunderland. Great live album.
Favorite Song: Would? and Grind (to be honest, my favorite song by AIC changes alot!)
4. Sebastian Bach - Powerful voice. Like no other. Listen to Quicksand Jesus.
Favorite Song: Quicksand Jesus
5. Jeff Keith - What a great voice! Alot of strength and passion for what he is doing. To hear the emotion he puts into a song, listen to Song and Emotion about the late Steve Clark.
Favorite Song: Changes and Caught Up In A Dream
6. Klaus Meine - I just love his voice. The Scorpions are one of my all time favorites. I have seen them in concert several times. They are such a great concert band. They know how to deliver.
Favorite Song: No One Like You
7. Eddie Vedder - Here is another one that I just plain like his voice. His lyrics are very inspiring and have something to say. He cares about his fans and shows it!
Favorite Song: Black and Evenflow
8. Chris Cornell - He was the lead singer/frontman for Audioslave and Soundgarden. What great bands! And what a voice.
Favorite Songs: Rusty Cage and Show Me How To Live
9. Scott Weiland - Another one I just like his voice. Very gritty.
Favorite Songs: Slither and Interstate Love Song
10. Don Dokken - Such passion and emotion! I can listen to him for hours. He is especially strong with his ballads, but can rock with anyone!
Favorite Song: Heaven Sent
11. Maynard Keenan - lead singer of Tool - very engimatic performer but with such strong, powerful vocals.
Favorite Songs: Vicarious, Sober, and of course, The Three Little Pigs!
12. Jon Bon Jovi - I have liked him since like 1986, in his long hair days. And I still love to hear him sing. Like Don Dokken, he can rock and he can sing a ballad that will melt your heart.
Favorite Songs: Always, Blaze of Glory, Only Lonely

Scott Weiland, of Velvet Revolver, formally charged with DUI, faces jail time
First off, let me admit that I am a huge fan of Velvet Revolver and especially of Stone Temple Pilots. I love Scott Weiland's voice. I am sorry I never saw STP in concert. I have one of their CD's in my car now and listen to it often. I also have both Velvet Revolver CD's. Love them too. However, Scott's apparent drug and alcohol problems I do not like. I don't know if he is guilty of this, but this is not the first time he has had problems due to these issues. In this incident, he refused to take blood tests (which he has that right), but he did take a breathalyzer test. The results have not been released, so I can't comment on that. But, if they do not show that he was above the limit, they have no case on him and he should walk. But I hope this is a sobering experience for him.
Here is a bit of both worlds for me (VR & STP):

Song of the Day: Mercy, Mercy, Mercy by Ike Turner & the Kings of Rhythm at Montreux Jazz Festival, 2002
Since Ike Turner passed away today, I want to give him this tribute as today's Song of the Day.
Ike Turner, dead at age 76, a life of fame and infamy
Ike Turner, member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, rock pioneer, drug addict, womanizer and wife abuser, died today at the age of 76. He was a brilliant musician, whose career achievements have been overshadowed (and rightfully so) by his private life, one that became very public. But before all of that was public, Ike and Tina Turner were magnificent on stage. The energy overwhelming! Over the years as Tina's career was on the rise, it appeared that Ike's was going in the opposite direction. He had two failed albums, and then had to spend time in prison on drug-related charges. In fact, he was in prison when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with his former wife, Tina. She accepted the award for both of them.
After he got out of prison, he no longer used drugs or alcohol and it appears that his career was doing much better. In fact, this year, he won a Grammy for his Risin' With the Blues album, a more traditional blues album.
On a personal side, he was married 4 times and had 4 known children. However, he always denied abusing Tina, but in his autobiography, (and get this name: Sure, I've slapped Tina... There have been times when I punched her to the ground without thinking. But I never beat her he did admit to some abuse. He also denied being legally married to her (but didn't he get a legal divorce and claim ALL of their assets???) My guess is that after all of the abuse became public knowledge and his prison time, he was embarassed by the mistakes he made (especially the movie What's Love Got To Do With It and tried to justify himself. It did not work.

New Crime Discussion Forum
Well, I have done it, and I hope I don't regret it! Since many of the comments on several of my posts on my crime blog seem to end up being more of a "discussion" than anything else, I have created a discussion forum so that we can all talk about these crimes. I hope you will come on over.
Our Discussion Forum
I am open to any and all suggestions on this. Also, please remember, this is the first time I have done this, so be nice!!
I have set up a few topics already. Any you want added, just let me know!

Ratatouille - as seen in the movie!
yummy! I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it!
Ratatouille’s Ratatouille
As envisioned by Smitten Kitchen
½ onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, very thinly sliced
1 cup tomato puree (such as Pomi)
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 small eggplant (my store sells these “Italian Eggplant” that are less than half the size of regular ones; it worked perfectly)
1 smallish zucchini
1 smallish yellow squash
1 longish red bell pepper
Few sprigs fresh thyme
Salt and pepper
Few tablespoons soft goat cheese, for serving
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Pour tomato puree into bottom of an oval baking dish, approximately 10 inches across the long way. Drop the sliced garlic cloves and chopped onion into the sauce, stir in one tablespoon of the olive oil and season the sauce generously with salt and pepper.
Trim the ends off the eggplant, zucchini and yellow squash. As carefully as you can, trim the ends off the red pepper and remove the core, leaving the edges intact, like a tube.
On a mandoline, adjustable-blade slicer or with a very sharp knife, cut the eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash and red pepper into very thin slices, approximately 1/16-inch thick.
Atop the tomato sauce, arrange slices of prepared vegetables concentrically from the outer edge to the inside of the baking dish, overlapping so just a smidgen of each flat surface is visible, alternating vegetables. You may have a handful leftover that do not fit.
Drizzle the remaining tablespoon olive oil over the vegetables and season them generously with salt and pepper. Remove the leaves from the thyme sprigs with your fingertips, running them down the stem. Sprinkle the fresh thyme over the dish.
Cover dish with a piece of parchment paper cut to fit inside. (Tricky, I know, but the hardest thing about this.)
Bake for approximately 45 to 55 minutes, until vegetables have released their liquid and are clearly cooked, but with some structure left so they are not totally limp. They should not be brown at the edges, and you should see that the tomato sauce is bubbling up around them.
Serve with a dab of soft goat cheese on top, alone, or with some crusty French bread, atop polenta, couscous, or your choice of grain.

Recipe: Moonstruck Eggs
Moonstruck Eggs
or Egg in a Basket, Egg in a hole
4 slices Italian bread
4 eggs
1/2 red bell pepper, seeded, cut into thin strips
1/2 small onion, peeled,halved,sliced thinly
salt
fresh ground pepper, to taste
extra virgin olive oil
1 clove crushed garlic (optional)
< 30 mins Breakfast
Heat a small amount of olive oil in skillet on medium heat.
Add sliced red peppers, sliced onions, and crushed garlic and saute until vegetables are soft& tender, but not mushy.
Using a slotted spoon, remove peppers& onions to a plate and keep warm.
Drain excess oil, if necessary, leaving just enough to keep bread and eggs from sticking to your pan.
Reduce heat to low.
You may even need to add a bit more oil depending on your pan.
Make a nest in each slice of bread by tearing out some of the center and set bread slices into skillet.
Let the bread brown for a few seconds, then flip over.
Immediately crack an egg into the nests of each slice of bread and cook until eggs are set to your liking.
You may flip over if desired, but it will not be as attractive as sunny side up.
(Tip: If you place a lid over your pan after you crack the eggs, this will help the yolks cook faster.) The trick is to work quickly and also not to have heat set too high or you will burn your eggs/bread.
While the eggs are cooking, you may return the vegetables to the pan and push them to one side to reheat them if necessary.
Serve eggs with the roasted peppers& onions on top of egg nests or on the side.
Season with salt & pepper to taste.

Deante Miller murder March 2006 Detroit, MI *Skeletal remains found of the 1 yr old child in attic; Parents Nickella Reid and Joseph Miller arrested*
What is wrong with parents today? Here is another story about the cruelty of parents against their children. Their infant children at that. These parents, Nickella Reid and Joseph Miller, had to explain how their 1 year old son received burns over more than a third of his body on Wed., the day before Thanksgiving. It came out that 2 years ago, they beat to death their other son (who was also 1 year old at the time) Deante Miller. They said that they did not have the money to bury him (or call the police apparently) so they burned his body on the barbeque (like a piece of meat no less) and then put his burned body in the attic. So, of course, this heinous crime was discovered only after another child was hurt. Thank goodness he survived. It scares me to think of the abuse the other children (there were four others, I believe) have also had to endure. They are now in State custody. The parents were arraigned on Saturday for the injuries caused to the child on Wed. and are awaiting the charges for Deante's murder.
Natural causes? But yet, he was found in the attic? If he died of natural causes, even at home that can happen - even with children, but why would you not call for help - police, paramedics, etc.? They could have received help for a funeral for a child. Does not sound right to me. I think that this story will not go far. But I guess it was the best he could come up with on short notice.

Couple Await Charges In Child Death
No charges have been filed against the couple in connection with the death of Deante, who died in March 2006. Reid told police Miller killed their son, but Miller said he died of natural causes. Reid also told police Miller scalded their other son, a charge he denied.Miller and Reid were arrested Friday after Reid took her son to the hospital with burns he suffered from what she said was scalding water.Hospital officials alerted state child protective workers. Reid told the state investigator that Miller scalded their son in the kitchen.During the interview, Reid broke down and said they also had another son, Deante, who died, Detroit police said. She then told interviewers about the cremation attempt and the remains in the ceiling

Quiet Riot frontman Kevin Dubrow found dead in his Las Vegas home
It is being reported that Kevin Dubrow, the former lead singer for the heavy metal band Quiet Riot, was found dead in his Las Vegas home yesterday. The cause is yet unknown, although an autopsy is being performed today. Quiet Riot was a very popular band in the 80's, especially with their hit "Cum On Feel The Noize". The band has changed quite a bit before they finally broke up in the last year.
I met Quiet Riot when they came here in the 90's. Most of the band was extremely nice and friendly. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about Kevin Dubrow, which was disappointing (however, not rare from what I have heard). I am sorry to see him gone, and I hope his family and friends find some kind of peace soon.

Stacey Peterson disappearance
Stacy Peterson
Peterson family
It has been two weeks since Stacy was last seen. And things do not look very positive right now, especially with police saying that it is starting to look like a homicide. And I have to agree myself. And I am so sorry for that. I hope Stacy's family is holding up, especially since there are children involved. Especially now that Drew Peterson has been named as a suspect.
It also looks like the death of Drew Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, is very suspicious. She was found dead, in a bathtub, with no water. Her death certificate said it was an accident, but that is apparently being changed as the coroner's office now says that was a mistake. They believe it was homicide. Her body is being exhumed this week to take a look and see what they can find.
I did read where Drew's mother is very upset over this, and alot of her anger is directed at the other police officer's that Drew works with. It seems that even though he is a suspect in his current wife's disappearance (and probable murder) and the murder of a former wife, his brother officers should abandon justice and stand behind him, even if they believe he has done what he is being accused of. She has said that they should be supporting him. I know this must all be very hard on her and I have alot of empathy for her. It would be hard to admit that your child could have done this, even if you don't believe that they could. And this will only get worse for her, in my opinion, as the case develops.
I hope that Stacy will be found soon, no matter the outcome. I hope both her family and Kathleen's family will find some justice in this, whatever the outcome may be.

Britney Spears has lost custody of her children!
Honestly, this should not be a surprise to anyone who has heard anything about her over the past few months. She has become a trainwreck, and does not appear to be slowing down. Over the past few months, she has been photographed with no panties, shaved her head, had disasterous performances (especially at the VMAs), been accused of taking drugs and drinking excessively, gone to rehab (apparently did not work either), had a hit and run (too bad it was caught on camera, and she had the nerve to check her own car but to completely disregard the car she hit) and had allegations of child abuse/neglect. Any average person would have already lost their children from this kind of behavior.
I understand that Britney is young, however, she is still old enough to know that this type of behavior is unacceptable, especially for someone in a custody battle. I certainly hope she gets the help she needs. She needs to take a look at her life and take the steps to get her life back in order so that she can be a parent. It is time for both her and Kevin Federline to stop thinking of themselves and think of the welfare of their children. After all, both of them are supposed to be the parents, not the children.
Kevin is supposed to get custody of the children on Wednesday. I truly hope that he understands that this should be about the children and be the kind of parent that they need right now. It will not be an easy time for the children. And, after all, this should be about them, and their welfare and well-being.

Shooting at University of Memphis: Student football player Taylor Bradford shot to death in his car
The University of Memphis is on lockdown today and classes are cancelled after a student athlete, Taylor Bradford, was shot to death as he was in his car on campus on Sunday night night. So far no arrests have been made. From what I have read, he went out to his car to get something and never returned to his dorm room. This made his friends go looking for him and they made the horrible discovery. Apparently, after getting shot, Taylor tried to drive himself to the hospital when he crashed into a tree. However, just now on CNN it is reported that this young man was specifically targeted.

Recipes: Char-Broiled Steak with Hoisin-Peanut Sauce and Angel Hair Pasta with Tomatoes, Peas and Shallots
looks yummy huh?
Char-Broiled Steak with Hoisin-Peanut Sauce
Hoisin sauce is a versatile ingredient worth having on hand for quick meals. Use it as the lone seasoning when broiling or grilling meats or fish, or mix it with other flavorings in dressings, marinades or toppings.
1/2 cup hoisin sauce*
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 lb. beef sirloin or top round steak, sliced (1/2 inch thick)**
1/4 cup chopped dry-roasted peanuts
1. In small bowl, stir together hoisin sauce, peanut butter and vinegar until smooth; reserve 1/3 cup for dipping sauce.
2. Heat broiler. Thread steak onto 4 (10-inch) metal skewers; place on foil-lined baking sheet. Brush with half of the remaining hoisin sauce mixture. Broil 4 to 6 inches from heat 5 to 7 minutes for medium-rare or until of desired doneness, turning once and brushing with sauce halfway through.
3. Serve sprinkled with peanuts. Pass reserved hoisin sauce mixture for dipping.
TIPS *Hoisin sauce is a thick, sweet, reddish-brown sauce made with soybeans, chiles, garlic, vinegar and spices. You can find it in Asian markets or in the Asian section of your grocery store.
**For easier slicing, place meat in freezer 30 minutes before slicing.

Angel Hair Pasta with Tomatoes, Peas and Shallots
This room-temperature pasta is easy to make and satisfying to eat, especially when the weather is hot. A generous amount of basil imbues it with summer-fresh flavor.

1 cup fresh corn kernels or frozen corn kernels, thawed
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup (4 oz.) grated Parmesan or Asiago cheese, divided
1 cup loosely packed chopped fresh basil
1 cup chopped seeded tomato (1 large)
1/2 cup thinly sliced shallots
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup seasoned rice vinegar
1. Cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water according to package directions; add peas and corn during last 1 minute of cooking. Drain; place in large bowl.

And the Michael Vick story just keeps going and going and ...
Tuesday, Michael Vick, as well as his co-defendants, was indicted on State charges for the dogfighting scandal.
These charges are in addition to the federal charges that he already pled guilty to (sentencing on those charges are scheduled for Dec. 10). Of course, both sides have something to say:
and then:
Well, if that did not ruin his day, he seemed to forget that doing drugs will not make his life better. Now he has tested positive for marijuana.
And now another twist has surfaced in all of this. There appears to possibly be a murder thrown into all of this. This blog has an interesting story about it. In April, Roy "Bud" Melton was shot to death execution style at his North Carolina home. During the investigation, evidence of ties to Bad Newz Kennels surfaced, along with dogs, equipment and documentation. This blog also has another interesting story about this, about "who" the murder victim could be.
Maybe people will one day learn to take pet ownership a bit more seriously, huh?

The Surry County grand jury brought two charges against Vick: one count of unlawfully torturing and killing dogs and one of promoting dogfights. Each is a felony charge that could result in a five-year prison term
These charges are in addition to the federal charges that he already pled guilty to (sentencing on those charges are scheduled for Dec. 10). Of course, both sides have something to say:
Vick's lawyers said they will "aggressively" work to make sure "that he is not held accountable for the same conduct twice." "We are disappointed that these charges were filed in Surry County, since it is the same conduct covered by the federal indictment for which Mr. Vick has already accepted full responsibility and pleaded guilty to in U.S. District Court in Richmond, Virginia," his lead attorney, Billy Martin, said in a statement issued Tuesday afternoon.
and then:
(Surry County Commonwealth Attorney Gerald) Poindexter said he pursued the case because "crimes that were not prosecuted were committed in Surry County." But he would not say whether his prosecutors put Vick's federal court admission that he killed dogs before the grand jury.
Well, if that did not ruin his day, he seemed to forget that doing drugs will not make his life better. Now he has tested positive for marijuana.
Because of the result, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson placed special conditions on Vick's release, including restricting him to his home between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and ordering him to submit to random drug testing.Vick was placed under pretrial release supervision by U.S. Magistrate Dennis Dohnal in July. His restrictions included refraining from use or unlawful possession of narcotic drugs or other controlled substances.Hudson's order on Wednesday also requires Vick to participate in inpatient or outpatient substance therapy and mental health counseling, if the pretrial services officer or supervising officer deem it appropriate. Vick must pay for the treatment.

Rex out, Brian in: Bears finally change starting Quarterback!
Lovie Smith announced this morning, after a disastrous game against Dallas on Sunday, that Brian Griese will replace Rex Grossman. FINALLY! After all, Rex has become quite the joke in the NFL and amongst fans. He has received many new fun nicknames recently:
Interceptasaurus Rex
Fumbleasaurus Rex
Turnoverauras Rex
Wrecks Grossman
And I am sure there are others, many not fit to print here. Anyway, the problem I see is that Rex can be a good quarterback. When he plays well, he is great. After all, he was the NFC Player of the month for September 2006. But since then, nothing. Nada. He has just gone downhill. Maybe all of that went to his head. I have to admit, I am tired of hearing that with Rex they kept winning and went to the Super Bowl. It was NOT because of him that this happened. It was our defense. If there was a valuable player for us, it was Devin Hester or Brian Urlacher. Now they produced. There is Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs, and many others that produce. Cedric Benson appears to be doing well also. But Rex is going in the opposite direction. He may have been a good player once, but something seems to have turned that around for him. I hope he gets his mojo back. But we cannot wait for it anymore. Not if we want to get back to winning. Go to the playoffs. And stop being the joke of the league we have become. Sorry Rex, but we need this change.

The Big NFL News of the Day: Michael Vick will plead guilty
The announcement came today from Michael Vick's attorney that he would take a plea bargain offered to him by Federal Prosecutors on the federal dogfighting charges. This is probably a good decision on his part, given the evidence that there appears to be and also knowing that more charges (including possible RICO charges) were forthcoming. He has fended that off now. He will be going to court next Monday to enter his new plea, however, I am not sure if he will be sentenced then or not. Apparently prison is part of the deal, as well it should be. I have heard differing opinions, ranging from 9-12 months to 18-36 months or more. Mind you, it is up to the Judge, not the Prosecutors as to how much time he will receive. Obviously he is hoping for the low end, but due to the circumstances, I would not count on it. I have read alot of articles and heard alot of reports on this. Most people are just disgusted by his actions. Many are calling for him to be banned from the NFL. Certainly he was no angel before this. There was the incident with the "obscene finger gesture" at a game and the water bottle incident are prime examples of the troubles he has been associated with. Obviously dogfighting is MUCH worse and to be honest, just plain revolting. Animal cruelty is just one of those things that completely changes the way people look at the perpetrator. And it is so sad, as Vick is a great quarterback, no question. Now, it is my belief that his career is ruined, and more than likely, over. I don't see many teams wanting to associate themselves with him. However, he will be in prison for a bit (probably a couple of years). By the time he gets out, he will then have to serve a suspension (more than likely) that will be given to him by the NFL. That will probably be about a year, I think. The earliest I can see him coming back to play is 2009 (very unlikely in my opinion) or 2010. By then he will be in his 30's and maybe not physically ready to play anymore. Maybe he can play in the Canadian League or Arena League. Not sure. I am one who believes in second chances, but will Michael Vick deserve one?

911 Operators refuse to help dying woman *Edith Isabel Rodriguez*
This story has outraged and saddened me. First off, my heartfelt condolences go out to Edith's family. This is a tragedy that proably could have been voided. At any rate, the hospital staff AND 911 Dispatch treated this family very poorly indeed. I have listened to the 911 tapes and I was floored. No one should be treated that way. Especially the second call. This dispatcher was disciplined, but I doubt it was very harshly. And I think at the least he should have been suspended.
This woman and her boyfriend begged for help. She was on the floor "writhing in pain" and no one helped her, even though there were doctors and nurses all around. She was completely ignored. What kind of medical service is that? My personal opinion is that because she was a transient, no one cared. Not having the money to pay for needed medical assistance is NO REASON. And that is only an assumption! They thought she did not deserve help. It was also probably assumed that she just wanted pain medication. But don't you think that after the second visit to the ER that someone, anyone, would have cared????? Well, I want to announce that she was still a human being. She was in obvious pain and did not deserve to be ignore like that. And now they cannot just say "I am sorry". I would be interested to see what the videotape will show, too. I think every nurse and doctor who were in that ER and saw her or knew about her should be held accountable for the care she did not receive.
Apparently this is not the first time that this hospital has had problems like this. Several patients have died under "questionable circumstances" since 2003. The hosptial in question is Martin Luther King Jr.-Harbor Hospital.

Last week, federal inspectors declared that patients at King-Harbor were in "immediate jeopardy" of harm or death and gave the hospital 23 days to correct procedures or lose certification. It was the fourth time in less than four years that the hospital had received the warning, according to The Los Angeles Times.

"The Devil Made Him Do It!"
Joshua Mauldin is in the Galveston County Jail.
Why would a 19 year old father be in jail? For putting his 2 month old daughter in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Is that not insane? What on earth could possess someone to do such a heinous act, especially to an innocent 2 month old infant? His explanation:
Well, the police are just not that dumb. They don't just take someone's word for for it, especially when a child is involved. Thank goodness!
And worse yet, his wife and mother of the infant (who has been taken away from the couple) is DEFENDING him.
She has said that he has some kind of mental illness (that of course she won't say what it is) and no one will help him with that. She says that he was becoming a minister to overcome his problems. Yeah right. Good try lady.

He faces a charge of injury to a child causing serious bodily harm. The charge carries a possible prison term of five to 99 years as well as a fine of up to $10,000.

He called 911 last Thursday, saying his baby had been burned in the hotel room when he tripped while carrying a pot of hot water to make coffee.

“That was not my husband; my husband is a wonderful father. Satan was working through his weaknesses,” and Eva Mauldin said her husband Joshua is “not the monster people are making him out to be.”
She blames the devil and some form of a demonic possession of her husband for what happened.

Halloween trailer *yeah*
OK, I am a huge fan of the original Halloween movie. It is my all time favorite horror movie. I never wanted it to be remade. Then I heard that Rob Zombie was doing it, but it was not to be a "remake" but a reimagining of the story. It took a bit, but I am now so excited for it! I love Rob Zombie's music and other movies. In fact, The Devil's Rejects is in my Top 10 movies!
So, watch the trailer. It looks pretty good to me!

*Parents* caged and shock at least one of their children in Ohio
Now here is a couple that defies logic and reason, besides being sociopathic and just plain downright despicable. These "parents", Jessica Botzko, 28, and John Westover, 37, are charged with child endangerment and also with making and/or selling drugs in front of the children. On Tuesday, their 10 year old son took his 5 year old brother and ran away and told police that he was tired of being locked in cages. This 10 year old boy had also been forced to wear a remote controlled shock collar that was designed to help train animals. Wow! What wonderful parents. Treating their children as if they were animals. It is unknown yet if the younger boy was caged or shocked, but I am sure he was not treated kindly either.
Another thing has come to light during this investigation:

Another thing has come to light during this investigation:
Westover has an extensive record and was wanted on a child endangering charge in suburban Toledo, authorities said. The couple had a daughter who died of sudden infant death syndrome a few years ago, Carroll said. Police plan to take another look at her death.

Not a shocker: For Paris Hilton, it is 45 days in jail
Today was Paris Hilton's day in court. And it was probably not her best or favorite day. The Judge found her in violation of her probation and sentenced her to 45 days in jail. And he meant 45 days in jail. He said Paris:
Unfortunately, she was 10 minutes late for court, and I am sure that it did not impress the Judge. However, I am not sure that being on time would have changed her sentence, either.
She does have a month before she must start serving her sentence and I wonder if she will appeal it during that time. However, I believe her sentence is fair and hopefully will be a wake-up call for her to look at her behavior and her life. After all, I am sure that there are actually many who look up to her as a role model and this is not the kind of behavior that anyone should be looking up to.

John Kenneth Freeman: *alledged* child rapist arrested in Hong Kong
Alledged child rapist John Kenneth Freeman, a former Washington State Sheriff's Deputy, was arrested and jailed in Hong Kong on Wednesday. Freeman is wanted for mulitiple counts of child rape and for videotaping and photographing these assaults. In plain English, he raped his daughter several times and then posted video and pictures of it online. What a scumbag. He was arrested orginally on the charges and posted $50,000 bail and then fled. His daughter, Kylie, is now a teenager and an advocate against child sexual abuse, who has spoken out against her father. It was with her help that investigators and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children pieced her story together, along with evidence of the videos online that had appeared of this child rape.
And then there is her mother, Maleka, who has been arrested when she returned from China on May 3, as it appears she has been helping her husband, yes, the man who abused and raped her daughter. What a loving mother.

Don Imus planning to sue CBS
Rumors are now flying that Don Imus plans to sue CBS for the $40 million dollars left on his contract after being fired last month. He has reportedly hired Martin Garbus, a New York-based attorney from the law firm Davis & Gilbert, and is one of the most recognized First Amendment lawyers. Apparently his contract stated that he was to receive a warning before ever being fired for saying something "offensive", which is what he made his career out of. So it had to be pretty bad to even get a warning. I believe if he had received a warning previous to this incident, it would have been reported previously.
My take? What he was was inappropriate, but not out of character for him, from what I have read. I never listened to his radio show, so I have no idea what he talked about. However, two things come to mind. First, freedom of speech. Doesn't this apply to him? Doesn't he have the right to his own opinion, regardless of how it makes others feel? Secondly, since Reverend Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson seemed to really push this, shouldn't this double standard go for all? After all, didn't Jesse Jackson once call New York "Hymie Town"? And Reverend Sharpton, what about the Tawana Brawley incident? These two seem to make their "careers" out of defaming the white race and glorifying the black race, regardless of the situation. But no one else can have their own opinions? Does not seem right to me.

Dumb criminal of the day: Samuel Chandler
OK, I have heard some stupid things, but this has to be close to the top. Samuel Chandler was arrested for printing off kiddie porn at a Kinko's! A Kinko's! Why on earth would you go there to print off illegal kiddie porn? Ask Samuel and he will tell you it is because he does not have a computer!! Wow. Some may say that honesty is the best policy, but still! He is now facing 234 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, one charge for each pornographic image that was on a computer disk he had.
A couple of alert customers saw what he was printing and called the police. And he was still printing off images when the police arrived. They searched his vehicle and found more there as well. Now the police are investigating to see where he got the disks with the kiddie porn on it, since he did not own a computer.

Everyone loves a sex scandal, don't they? Unless they are the center of it!
Deborah Jeane Palfrey is becoming a household name these days. Better known as the "D.C. Madam", she is in the news almost daily, due to her pending legal case (she is charged with federal racketeering charges). She ran "Pamela Martin and Associates", which she says was a legal escort service: (according to her website)
Of course, now everyone is wondering if she will publish her "client list". She did turn over phone records to ABC for a 20/20 segment, but it is unknown what they will do with them.
So far, Deborah as released one name: Randall Tobias, who was an Ambassador (title: Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance and US Agency for International Development Administrator), who then turned in his resignation due to this scandal. Deborah plans to call as many of her clients as necessary at her trial to prove that she was not running a prostitution ring or call girl service. Randall Tobias denied anykinds of sex, but rather, the girls came over for massages.
This Friday, May 4th may be a telling day, as that is the day that the 20/20 episode will air. I am sure that there are many people in D.C. dreading this, wondering, waiting to see if their name will be announced. My guess, yes, names will be said. After all, it is in the ratings! My advice to anyone who even thinks that their name could be announced or that they could be affected by this, be prepared.
One thing I do wonder is how will all of this affect Deborah's pending criminal charges? Will announcing her client list endear her to them? Will they want to testify for her? How many of them are willing to cause problems for themselves to help her? My guess is not many at all.
I guess we will see Friday night what direction this is going!

Of course, now everyone is wondering if she will publish her "client list". She did turn over phone records to ABC for a 20/20 segment, but it is unknown what they will do with them.
She has also reportedly handed her client list over to ABC News – a list that includes "people…at the Pentagon, lobbyists, others at the White House, prominent lawyers — a long, long list," according to Brian Ross.
